Thank you for letting me into your reading life. It’s a pleasure to be here and I hope you find this attempt of mine to be entertaining, enlightening, and worth your time.
I frolic in the island nation of Japan where I have been made a Permanent Resident by the government; similarly, my paternal grandmother was a Permanent Resident of the US (citizen of Canada), so I am upholding a long (well, two generations so far) family history.
I make books, write fiction, enjoy sake (日本酒), upload Tedorigawa Bookmakers, a monthly podcast about my bookbinding business, and teach the language of England to speakers of Japanese, excluding myself. As you will soon learn, I claim no fluency in the lingua franca of Japan, although I try to hold my own in a conversation.
In my Substack I am planning to upload three things for you: Literary Fiction in Progress, Genre Fiction, and non-fiction as Diary of a Dead Cat Journal.
Lit Fiction is Progress will encompass novels I am writing or editing for clarity and excitement (including spelling, grammar, and consistency errors). It will also hold short stories (completed) for your reading pleasure. Genre Fiction will hold mysteries, dystopian novels, and, hopefully (possibly) a Japan-centered detective story or two. Diary of a Dead Cat Journal will be non-fiction about certain topics none of which will be political.
I hope you will enjoy the fiction, the non-fiction, and this Substack.
